VTac is committed to providing quality training for your New Mexico Concealed Handgun Carry Course. Our instructors are highly qualified, experienced firearms instructors who place safety in the classroom and on the range as their top priority. VTac recognizes not all participants have experience with firearms. That's why our instructors tailor their one-on-one instruction with each student to meet the student's learning needs. When you take a CCW (concealed carry weapons) permit training course with VTac, you'll be prepared to submit your application to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety (DPS) and you'll have the confidence to carry your handgun concealed to give you the tactical advantage if you're ever in a situation that requires you utilize a handgun to protect yourself or others.​

In accordance with the New Mexico Concealed Handgun Carry Act [29-19-1 NMSA 1978], VTac's Concealed Carry Weapons Permit training course is a minumum of fifteen hours in length and provides instruction regarding:

Knowledge of and safe handling of single and double-action revolvers and semiautomatic handguns;

Safe storage of handguns and child safety;

Safe handgun shooting fundamentals;

Live shooting of a handgun on a firing range;

Identification of ways to develop and maintain handgun shooting skills;

Federal, state and local criminal and civil laws pertaining to the purchase, ownership, transportation, use and possession of handguns;

Techniques for avoiding a criminal attack and how to control a violent confrontation; and
-
Techniques for nonviolent dispute resolution.

Fingerprinting
You must submit digital fingerprints for a background check by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). We'll direct you to a DPS approved Gemalto fingerprinting location near you.
Application
When you take a concealed carry course with VTac, we make it easy to complete your application by providing all the forms you need on-line and step by step instructions.
Consulting
VTac and your instructor will review your application for completeness. The DPS will not accept incomplete applications. Additionally, it will not refund your fee. When you take a concealed carry course with VTac, we make sure your application is complete with all required documents to help ensure your application is approved.
